The ELOQUENCE project was recently showcased at the 21st International Conference on Natural Language Processing (ICON’24), held from December 19–22, 2024 in Chennai, India. Represented by Dr. Ravi Shekhar from the University of Essex, this event marked a key opportunity to raise awareness of ELOQUENCE within a globally recognised NLP and computational linguistics forum.
ICON serves as a leading platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to discuss advancements in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computational Linguistics. The 2024 edition attracted diverse participants, including national and regional authorities, civil society actors, and the global research community, creating an ideal setting for the ELOQUENCE project to expand its reach and visibility.
During the conference, participants engaged in meaningful conversations about the project’s objectives and early outcomes. The discussions offered valuable insights into ELOQUENCE’s efforts to develop trustworthy, multilingual, and context-aware AI language technologies. These dialogues not only helped contextualise the project’s importance but also created opportunities for future collaborations and knowledge sharing across institutions and regions.
Importantly, the event enabled the promotion of ELOQUENCE’s early scientific outputs, ensuring that key findings and innovations reached a broader audience. This engagement with the wider NLP community continues to support the project’s mission of building inclusive, transparent, and impactful language technologies.
ELOQUENCE thanks Dr. Ravi Shekhar for his contributions and commitment to strengthening the project’s global connections through participation in ICON 2024.
