The ELOQUENCE project continues to make strides in advancing multilingual and bias-controlled language technologies, as demonstrated by its latest presence at the AISV 2025 Conference. Representing Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), Marco Matassoni participated in the Italian Association of Speech Science (AISV) workshop, presenting key research insights that are shaping the future of automatic speech recognition (ASR) for European languages in low-resource settings.
The XXI National AISV Conference took place from February 6 to 8, 2025, at the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo” in Italy. This annual gathering serves as a pivotal platform for experts in speech science to exchange knowledge, discuss innovative research, and explore the latest advancements in the field. The 2025 conference continued this tradition, offering a diverse range of presentations and workshops that addressed current challenges and future directions in speech science.
During the conference, Matassoni showcased a poster titled “Automatic Speech Recognition for European Languages in Low-Resource Settings,” highlighting the ongoing research within the ELOQUENCE project. As the lead partner for the “Multilinguality, Rapid Adaptation Toward Context-Aware Language Models & Bias-Controlled Language” Work Package, FBK plays a pivotal role in ensuring that AI-driven speech technologies become more inclusive and adaptable across different European languages and contexts.
The workshop provided an excellent platform to foster collaboration, increase knowledge-sharing, and disseminate scientific results among leading experts in speech science, AI, and language technology. Engaging with innovators, EU institutions, and research communities, this participation strengthens ELOQUENCE’s commitment to developing trustworthy, multilingual, and bias-aware AI systems.
