Job Offer: Researcher on Efficient Large Multimodal Models for Multilingual Speech Processing at FBK Research Center in Augmented Intelligence

If you are a researcher interested in investigating novel solutions for multilingual speech recognition (and processing in general) leveraging large multimodal foundation models, the Speech Technology Lab is looking for you! Our partner Fondazione Bruno Kessler invites applications for the role of Researcher on Efficient Large Multimodal Models for Multilingual Speech Processing to work within the framework of two Horizon Europe projects: Eloquence and Meetween (meetween.eu). 

Job Overview: 

Location: Trento, Povo (Italy)

Salary: € 36,200 – € 41.400 per annum

Hours and duration: Full Time (38h per week), 36 months

Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract

Start date: preferably by September 2024 

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in data science, computer science, engineering or related fields – the degree must be obtained by the start date of the FBK contract;
  • Experience in AI solutions for speech recognition and speech processing. Familiarity with most models and neural architectures for speech and audio processing;
  • Fluent in Python and the ML packages and modules;
  • Excellent publication record in relevant international conferences and journals;
  • Good communication and relational skills;
  • Self-motivation and result orientation;
  • Oral and written proficiency in English.

The selected candidate will in particular target novel solutions which are efficient in terms of data and computational resources, suitable for low-resourced settings and compliant with European values in terms of bias, ethics and privacy. The candidate is expected to advance the state-of-the-art in the field and disseminate the results to top international conferences and journals of the speech processing and artificial intelligence communities.
