As artificial intelligence continues to transform the way we communicate, work, and interact with digital systems, ensuring that these technologies are trustworthy, transparent, and accountable has become a central challenge. Language technologies in particular, ranging from conversational AI to large language models, are increasingly shaping everyday decision-making processes, making the need for explainability more urgent than ever.
To explore these important topics, we invite you to join our upcoming webinar on Monday, 30 March, focused on Trustworthiness and Explainability in Language Technologies.
The session will be delivered by Prof. Tatiana Kalganova from Brunel University of London, who will share her expertise on how AI systems can be designed to be more reliable, interpretable, and aligned with human expectations. Drawing on her extensive research, Prof. Kalganova will address key questions around how trust in AI can be established, what explainability means in the context of language technologies, and why these aspects are essential for both developers and end users.
🎙️Tatiana Kalganova is Professor of Intelligent Systems, based in Brunel University of London. She is a Co-Director of research centre on AI: Social and Digital Transformation and EEE Research director. She has over 30 years of experience covering design and implementation of applied Intelligent Systems recently focusing on Green Sustainable AI. Her research won numerous international awards (Research Impact Awards, US AFWERX challenges, among others). She has led and collaborated on research projects with academic and industry colleagues worldwide, securing funds from EPSRC, EU Horizon, Innovate UK, BEIS among others, and she has 5 patents and over 120 scientific articles.
ELOQUENCE aims to advance multilingual and human-centric language technologies across Europe. As part of its broader focus on responsible AI, ELOQUENCE actively explores how to build systems that are not only high-performing, but also transparent, inclusive, and aligned with societal values.
By bringing together expert knowledge and ongoing research perspectives, this session contributes to the project’s mission of fostering trustworthy and explainable AI systems that can be effectively deployed in real-world, multilingual environments.
